KLCA CHESS LEAGUE 2018
 - RULES - 

Note: 

 ( ** LEAGUE Rules will be FINALISED & CONFIRMED during Players' Meeting )

1. Entrance FEES

A. RM450 per team.

     I. RM399 per team - EARLY BIRD fees is ONLY applicable:-

        a. until 26 September 2018; or,

        b. 10 Teams have REGISTERED and PAID, whichever is earlier.

   

B. Entrance fees will cover the registration of THREE (3) players only.

C. Additional players can be registered up to a MAXIMUM of  TWO(2) players per team.

     Maximum players per team is FIVE(5) players.

D. Additional player(s) registered with a FIDE ID will be charged RM50 per player.

E. Players WITHOUT FIDE ID.

i. Malaysian Players

Additional Malaysian players without a FIDE ID will be charged RM70 per player.

ii. Foreign Players

Foreign players WITHOUT a FIDE ID will have to contact their respective country's federation to obtain a FIDE ID.

3. TEAM Composition

A. A team participating in the KLCA League should consist of  a Minimum of THREE(3) players 

    per Team.

B. FIDE Elo Ceiling

i. There is NO elo Ceiling/Cap for any  player to participate in the league.

ii. However, there is a maximum ceiling for the elo average of the team.

    The average elo ceiling for each team participating in the KLCA League is set at 2200 elo

C. Unrated Players

Players without a FIDE elo will be accorded the following:-

i    Malaysian Players

     18 years and above - 1800

     Below 18years        - 1600

ii. Foreign Players       - 2000

     

D. Foreign Players

i. Only TWO(2) foreign players can be registered by each team.

ii. However, ONLY ONE(1) foreign player can play for each team at any one time/round.

E.  Players with PR-Status

4. Team  Eligibility

A. KLCA and/or KLCA League reserves the right to refuse to register any team or or team name without giving any reason(s) whatsoever.

B. State Team

Team(s) claiming to represent any state must submit a Support/Endorsement Letter from their respective State's chess association.

C. Government Agencies / Statutory Body / MNC or Corporation / Club / Association / NGO Team

Team(s) claiming to represent any:-

i.    Government Agency;

ii.   Statutory Body;

iii.  MNC / Corporation / Company

iv.  Club / Association; and,

v.   NGOs,

MUST submit a Support/Endorsement Letter from the respective organisation.

D. KLCA and/or KLCA League reserves the right to refuse to register any team name(s) without giving any reason(s) whatsoever.

5. Players Eligibility

A. A player can ONLY be registered to Play for ONE (1) Team.

B. Double registration of ANY Player will result in the disqualification of the Team.

C KLCA and/or KLCA League reserves the right to refuse to register any team without giving any reason whatsoever.

6. FIDE Ratings/elo

A. The player's elo will be based on the published FIDE Ratings list as at 1st September 2018

B. Players' elo will be based on the following order:-

i. Classical elo;

ii. Rapid elo.

7. LEAGUE SCHEDULE

    October
    PLAYERS MEETING: 8.30 AM. Saturday, 20 October 2018
    Note: LEAGUE Rules will be FINALISED & CONFIRMED during Players' Meeting

    Round 1: 9.30 AM, Saturday, 20 October 2018.
    Round 2: 3.00 PM, Saturday, 20 October 2018.

    Round 3: 9.00 AM, Saturday, 27 October 2018.
    Round 4: 3.00 PM, Saturday, 27 October 2018.


    November
    Round 5: 9.00 AM, Saturday, 10 November 2018.
    Round 6: 3.00 PM, Saturday, 10 November 2018.

    CLOSING CEREMONY: 6.00 - 6.30 PM. Saturday 10 November 2018 (tentative)

10. PRIZE ELIGIBILITY

C. Category Prizes

i.   Three(3) Teams must participate in the pertinent category for the category prize(s) to be awarded.

ii.  KLCA / KLCA Chess League 2018 reserves the right to add additional category prize(s).
